Coffee is definitely something I cannot live without. Every morning I have to have my morning cup, so now, I have tons of coffee grounds. It is completely unused.
Well, there are many ways to use them. I put them on my plants to serve as fertilizer, but I still have more.
Here is a real simple DIY. Coconut oil and coffee body scrub is the perfect thing to make. It is a sure stress reliever from the long work day or the perfect personalized gift for family and friends.
It is very simple to make and really good for the skin.
Coconut oil is an amazing ingredient. It is antibacterial and anti fungal. It is also an excellent moisturizer. It also smells really good.
Coffee, on the other hand, is a superb exfoliant. It removes dead skin cells and reveals fresh and healthy. It is also immensely helpful in minimizing the appearance of cellulite.
Coconut Oil and Coffee Body Scrub
- 1/4 Coffee Grounds (saved some coffee grounds from my morning coffee for a few days placing them in a container and stirring several times to encourage drying)
- 1/2 cup softened extra virgin coconut oil
Add the coffee grounds to the coconut oil and stir well. Set aside. Allow it to firm up.
The length of time it takes to firm up depends on the temperature. If it’s warm (over 70° F), place it in the refrigerator to solidify. If it’s below 70°F it may take several hours for the product to become firm.
It is easy to store the mixture. If you give it as a gift, you can use a glass or mason jar with wide mouth.
